Project 7: Web Page

Earth Rhythms MT_Final Screenshot

Description: Web page to advertise logo design, and web design ability.

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used Notepad++ on Windows 10, and both Google Chrome and Firefox to view my webpage, and make sure it would display well in both browsers. I became very familiar with the Alt+Tab function of my computer, and I fear I might end up doing it on accident sometimes. I used HTML5 and CSS to pretty up this webpage, and must say, I am a bit proud of it seeing as it is only my first attempt. I credit my teacher Bro. Pingel, and a guy named Shane Smyth for helping me discover my overcomplicating of things in CSS, where they could be much more simple.

Message: Earth Rhythms Music Therapy is a company seeking to help people throughout the world, to improve their world.

Audience: Future employers at any job, to show that I can do a basic mock up of a website, and to dual advertise my ability to design logos.

Top Thing Learned: Programming takes time. Especially when you first start out. I feel like my code is a wreck for this project. But, the thing looks decent enough. I learned that I am not the biggest fan of programming, but I am very intrigued by it, and would like to continue learning.

Color scheme and color hex(s): This color scheme is Analogous, using Blue, Green, and Teal. And their hex codes are: #

Title Font Families & Category: Bitter – Serif

Copy Font Families & Category: Franklin Gothic – Sans Serif

Changes made to the CSS: I changed the font families, and also the colors. I also changed opacity, and placement of text boxes. And, I changed the link color, both visited and unvisited color. And the background image, and how it was managed.

Word Count: 411

Description: Business Card and Letterhead for Music Therapy Business

Process: I spent several days just sketching and once I came up with a name and a theme, the project came together. I used Adobe Illustrator to create my logo, and all the graphics that you see. Then I imported my Illustrator projects into Adobe InDesign to arrange and create the cards. I hunted through http://www.dafont.com for fonts, and found some nice and contrasting fonts.

Message: A down-to-earth music therapy establishment, that specializes in percussion and focuses on keeping rhythm in helping with rehabilitation.

Audience: Relatives of/ people suffering from cognitive memory disorders, anxiety disorders, autism, Parkinson’s, acute and chronic pain, and more.

Top Thing Learned: Critiques are great, and you need to have a consistent product with similar themes throughout.

Color scheme and color names: Analogous – Green and Blue

Title Font Name & Category: Autoradiographic Italic – Sans Serif

Copy Font Name & Category: Sanchez – Serif

P5: Logo Design

KahlevonBose-P5Logos

Description: Logo for Media Business

Process: To create this logo I used Adobe Illustrator to create an original logo design. Corresponded with survey group to get opinions and input and with the company owners to figure out what would make this design work best. Sketched many different designs and then rendered three different designs. After getting input from several people, used Adobe Illustrator to create next draft of the logo. Made use of the Pen Tool (to become acquainted with it) and used many fonts before settling on this simple sans font.

Message: A friendly and professional business that will work with you to be on the same page, have the same focus, and the same goals. The logo is two different sets of eyes, coming together to look like one set of eyes. All the different sets are intended to have the same focal point.

Audience: Companies in need of video, audio, or written instructional materials, commercials, or youtube videos.

Top Thing Learned: Logos need logic. When you are trying to figure out a good logo, the people who own the business know best what they want. (Esp. if they are philosophy graduates.)

Color Scheme: Monochromatic – Teal and Light Teal; Purple and Light Purple

Font: Absolut Pro reduced – Sans Serif
